Position Opening: On-Call Behavior Intervention Program (BIP) Specialist
Position Summary: The Behavior Intervention Program (BIP) Specialist is responsible for working one-on-one with students exhibiting adolescent behaviors that will benefit from redirection, de-escalation strategies, and restorative practices and their families to determine appropriate and effective interventions that will ensure success in school and the community.
Position Status: Part-Time On-Call, not benefits eligible. *Opportunity to move full-time based on performance.
Compensation: $25.00/hour based on experience and demonstrated expertise.
Hours: On-Call, Mondays – Fridays during school hours
Location: Harding and/or Johnson High School
Reports to: BIP Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Facilitate and provide case management forexhibiting adolescent behaviors that will benefit from redirection, de-escalation strategies, and restorative practices in school or the community.
· Always ensure an active caseload of 20-25 Tier A youth. Tier B youth caseload will vary depending upon the needs of each school.
· Work with BIP Supervisor to identify additional youth to add to caseload when youth have transferred, graduated from Tier A to Tier B or have fallen off the case list.
· Proactively engage with youth, their family, school, and community resources to develop a specific measurable intervention plan using the Carver Method, meeting with youth in-person or over video at minimum on a weekly basis.
· Document all communications (emails, phone calls, in-person visits, etc.) in Social Solutions Apricot ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
· Identify community resources that support youth and families, sharing with the BIP Supervisor to update the Student Resource List handout.
· Continually collaborate with community resources that provide mentoring, youth development, mental health, vocational or other services to assist youth in developing a success plan.
· Develop training and compile resources for youth that address anger management, problem solving, personal development, and effective social skills.
· Respond to all communication from youth, coworkers, school staff and colleagues in a timely manner.
· Provide opportunities for students to have meaningful engagement with the SPPS restorative practices process.
· Professionally represent SPYS during all school and community interactions.
· Other tasks, committee assignments and/or special projects as assigned by BIP Supervisor or SPYS leadership.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
· 2+ years of related experience or training
· Demonstrated success working with youth and families to achieve measurable outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience providing de-escalation, redirection, and restorative practices in a school setting
